My Account

Do I need an account to place an order?

Not at all, you can check out as a guest. But taking a moment to create an acount will increase checkout speed and allows you to save multiple delivery and shipping address's, view your previous orders, statements and more.

How do I create an account

To create an acount you first need to go to the account login page by clicking the 'LOG IN' link near the top right of every page (or by clicking here). Once there you can login to an existing account or click the Create Account button on the left. You will then have to enter your name, email and password, or you can create an account and login using the socail media buttons at the top. Then you see a small pop up asking you to share us with your friends, please do. That's it, you have now created an account with Washington Lighting and can manage your previous orders, subscrptions, wishlist and more.

Is buying online safe?

We have multiple safe guards in place to ensure that your payment is completley secure from point A to point B. Our online payment providor is encrypted via PaymentSense and our entire website is secured by SSL security. We never store your banking or credit details on our system, PayPal is also highly secure and the UK's number one online prefered payment service.

What payment methods are available?

We offer a variety of payment methods, the most common being pay by card. We accept most major credit and debit cards. We also accept payment via PayPal and via card over the phone. And don't worry our site is completley secure and your payment is safe with us.

Can I have a separate billing and shipping address?

Yes! When you place your order through our website you'll be asked to enter a billing address first, this is the address your card is registered to, below that is a small tick box called 'ship to this address', if you would like to enter a different shipping address please untick the box and enter the additional information.

What happens if my order arrives damaged or faulty?

Although we take the utmost care to make sure your new home addition stays in one piece, accidents happen. The last thing we want is for you to feel disappointed, we therefore advise you to 'check it as soon as it arrives' and contact our customer support team with any concerns on 0191 417 4006. What is the average delivery time?

We endeavor to dispatch all orders received within 3-5 working days, however in some circumstances, including medium and large items, it can take up to 7-14 working days to be dispatched. We will contact you in the event of any unexpected or additional delays and always keep you informed. What is your refund policy?

Products have a 14 day money back guarantee on all products bought both online and in store (except special orders and clearance products of course). Even after 14 days, you still have an additional 46 days to return any unused and unwanted goods. Just contact our customer support team on 0191 417 4006 to discuss, confirmation is usually around 2 or 3 working days after receiving and inspecting the returned goods. How do I return a product?

To return an order, simply email our friendly customer support team at [email protected] with a brief explanation as to the reason why. Please seal the outer box with clear sticky tape only. Product Warranty

What warranties are available?

The manufacturer as standard offers a one year warranty on all products. On top of this many products include longer duration warranties such as the finish on many outdoor lights, against corrosion and rust. If a product is out of its warranty, we still may be able to send chargeable replacments or repair it at a charge, it's always worth asking as we will always do our very best to help you. Do you do repairs on broken lights?

If you've purchased a fitting from us and it's still under warranty we will do our very best to replace the damaged part for you. If you already have a fitting we do offer a repair service for most damage and electrical faults.

What light fittings come supplied with bulbs?

Are LED bulbs dimmable?

Some are, some aren't, that's the short answer anyway. Some LED bulbs will buzz or flicker when dimmed, this is because LED's use different circuitry to other bulbs, and their brightness is not directly tied to the amount of electricity they are fed with, as with normal light bulbs. Make sure the LED bulb's you're buying are dimmable, or buy an LED compatible dimmer switch, to help you create the perfect ambiance.

Do you sell replacement parts?

Yes, many of our products have replacemt parts available online. If you do not see what you're looking for please contact us and we will do our very best locate the piece for you. Although we hope you'll never need to replace a broken fitting, it is sometimes a good idea to refresh the look of your light by adding a dirrerant colour shade, or replaceng a piece of glass.
